“A woman, as long as she lives, will remember how she was made to feel at her birth.” — Anna Verwaal
My philosophy
Birth is unpredictable, and with skills and knowledge you can better navigate the unexpected path of birth. Whether you are birthing at home, a birth center, or a hospital, having hands on support and guidance will help you to have a happier and more peaceful experience.
I believe in true informed consent. When you understand what your body is doing in pregnancy and birth, you can step confidently into your intuition and you become the expert of your own birth. I teach skills to better communicate with your providers, so you have a full understanding of the risks and benefits of your choices.
I believe in bodily autonomy. It's your body and I support whatever choices you make. I will advocate for you and respect what you want for you and your baby.
I am a birth, postpartum, high-risk doula, PAIL Advocate (pregnancy and infant loss advocate), and HypnoBirthing educator. I have a bachelor's degree in Family Life and Human Development. In college, I became passionate about reproductive health and the importance of accessibility and equity. My guiding principles are bodily autonomy and reproductive justice.
As a mother of four, I have experienced a birth center, hospital, and home birth. I have seen the pros and cons of different kinds of providers, locations, birth educations, medicated, and unmedicated births. I have also experienced the heartache of infertility and miscarriage. My own experiences have shaped my beliefs and passion for birth, maternal health, and well being.
